Our Mission

The mission of the Central Heights Independent School District, in partnership with home and community, is to provide a safe learning environment for all students and develop well-educated leaders of character who are prepared for the global challenges of tomorrow.

Nestled in the heart of deep East Texas, Central Heights ISD has proudly served the Nacogdoches community for 100 years, shaping generations of learners since 1925. With a legacy built on Excellence Through Education, we are dedicated to fostering academic achievement, character development, and lifelong success. As we celebrate a century of tradition and innovation, CHISD remains committed to providing a supportive, forward-thinking environment where students are challenged to reach their full potential. Strategic Plan

At Central Heights ISD, we believe that students will be supported by our staff and community, in both academics and activities, to ensure preparation for college, careers, and life. Parents and Families are true partners in their child's education, are advocates for staff and students, and are invested in our growing community. Faculty and Staff are professional educators who are supported by the district stakeholders and, inturn,support the whole child. Campus Administrators are approachable, trustworthy advocates for students and staff,who hold themselves and others accountable for excellence in education. The Superintendent and Central Office Staff are approachable, sincere leaders who hold themselves and others accountable to transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness. The Board is   an effective team that leads with transparency and trust and are exceptional financial stewards who ensure the needed support for staff and students.
