ParentSquare Info

ParentSquare/StudentSquare is our main method of communication to parents and students:

A person holds a smartphone displaying the ParentSquare app, featuring a logo with colorful circles.

Our district uses ParentSquare & StudentSquare (grades 6th – 12th) for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically syncs with our Student Information System to generate an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • On the app, enter your email or cell phone number. The email and/or cell phone number should match what is in the school's student information system (Ascender).

On the web, click ‘Sign In’, then under ‘Register’ section, put your email or phone number and click '“Go”.

If the email or phone number is not recognized by ParentSquare, parents can follow directions to request access or call the school office and ask them to update the contact information.

  • ParentSquare allows users to customize their notifications based on notification type and select their preferred delivery method for each school – text, email and/or app notification. The Instant setting will send post notifications in real-time. The Digest setting sends direct messages, alerts, and time-sensitive posts instantly, but sends all non-time sensitive posts at the end of the day, reducing the number of notifications you receive daily. Learn more about managing notifications.

  • Parents can update their language preference for their account. There are over 100 languages to select from. English will be the default langage unless changed by the user. Once this has done this, ParentSquare will automatically translate any communication to users in their selected language. • Yes. All parents have a ParentSquare account. ParentSquare is the primary tool for district and school communication. Individuals who do not activate their account in ParentSquare will still receive an email digest at the end of each day that communication is sent out to them. In the event of emergencies, phone calls will be sent as well.

  • Our ParentSquare program syncs nightly with our Student Information System. Once your child has been offically withdrawn from CHISD, you and your child will automaticallly be removed from ParentSquare/StudentSquare. If you do not want to wait for this process to be completed, you can click the “Unsubscribe”  link on any email from ParentSquare or reply STOP to any text message from ParentSquare, this will stop notifications to your email or phone.

  • If you need to make a change to a parent or student cell phone number or email address, parents can log into their Ascender Parent Portal and make changes. Once the nightly sync takes, the information will be updated in ParentSquare/StudentSquare. Students can not change their email address due the fact that they must use their school given email address for StudentSquare.

If you are unable to make the needed changes in Ascender Parent Portal, you can reach out to your campus directly for more assistance.

  • If you or your student are having issues with ParentSquare or StudentSquare, you can reach out to Tracy McCown by email or by calling her at 936-552-3408.
